Party Room

Q: How early can we have access to the room?
A: You will have access to the room at the start time of your party. If you need early access to your party room, you can request this through your event manager. There is a $10 fee for 10 minutes early access.

 

Q: Can I bring balloons?
A: BALLOONS and/or PINATA’S are NOT permitted in Prospect Park.

 

Q: Can I bring my own decor?
A: Yes, you are more than welcome to bring your own decorations with approval from your event coordinator. BALLOONS and/or PINATAS are NOT permitted in Prospect Park.

 

Q: How many people can fit in a party room?
A: We can accommodate a maximum of 20 kids with seats and a maximum of 10 adults with limited seating in a single party room.

 

Q: Will I have someone in the room to help out?
A: You will have a party attendant who will be in and out of the room to service the food and beverage component of your event. We do ask that you provide one chaperone per five kids for the event.

 

Q: Can the guests leave their shoes in the room?
A: When guests rent their skates, our staff will ask them to leave their shoes at the bag check counter. They do have the option to bring them back to the party room. Please make sure all skates are returned to the rental counter upon departure.

 

Q: Do we have access to the party space throughout the entire party?
A: Yes, you have access to the party space for the entire duration of the party (Currently set at 90-minutes).

 

Q: What is the layout of the seating in the party room?
A: The tables are configured in a U-Shape so we can accommodate more seating
and the kids can converse much easier. We are open to an altered layout as long as it doesn’t affect the flow of the event. We can accommodate a maximum of 20 seats
for kids and a maximum of 10 adults with small cocktail table seating.

 

Q: Can I stay in the room longer?
A: If there is availability, you can extend your party for an additional cost. Please inquire with your event coordinator to discuss availability.

 

Q:What party room will we be in and where is it located?

Q:Is the Party Room secure with our belongings?
A: There is a party attendant in the room throughout the event and we provide a security guard to be stationed in front of the party rooms near the picnic tables. Lakeside is not liable for personal property that has been lost or damaged.

 

Q:What do I do if I left something in the Party Room?
A: Please call Lakeside at your earliest convenience at 718-462-0010 or email us with a detailed description of the item to info@lakesidebrooklyn.com.

Q: What is the layout of the seating in the party room?
A: The tables are configured in a U-Shape so we can accommodate more seating and the kids can converse much easier. We are open to an altered layout as long as it doesn’t affect the flow of the event. We can accommodate a maximum of 23 seats for kids and a maximum of 10 adults with small cocktail table seating.

Contract

Q: What does the Administrative fee consist of?
A: The contract is a standardized document that is utilized for all events, and all events include applicable tax and an administration fee. The administration fee includes general staffing costs and administrative costs related to the production and execution of your event. This fee is mandatory and cannot be removed from
the contract.

 

Q: Is gratuity included or should I tip?
A: Gratuity is not included, but a portion of the administrative fee goes towards our staff’s hourly pay. If you wish to leave our staff a gratuity, we certainly suggest it, if you feel your service was up to par. If they receive a monetary value in cash, they are not obligated to share it with the remaining staff. Please inform your event coordinator if you have any questions about gratuities.

 

Q: What other fees are associated with booking a birthday party, besides the price of the package?
A: Two additional fee’s that are mandatory for all events would be the: (1) State Tax (2) Administration Fee. Depending on the size of your group and food choices, there may be additional staffing costs. Your event coordinator will address any additional fees at the time of booking.

Skating

Q: Does the one hour skate time include the time it will take all the guests to get their skates on etc? If so, do we get extra time to skate?
A: It typically takes about 15-20 minutes for guests to put on their skates. The more chaperones you have to assist, the better. You may have extra time to skate, but we do try and stick to a strict schedule for the food portion. Please note, all belongings must be out of the party rooms promptly upon event conclusion.

 

Q: If rentals and admission are additional can you tell me the cost for both?
A: Rink Admission – $17.25 | Skate Rentals – $9.50

 

Q: Are skate rentals included for the adults?
A: Q: Is the rink indoors?
A: No, neither of the two rinks are technically outdoors. One of the rinks is covered with a roof, but is not enclosed with walls.

 

Q: Can the adults go on the ice rink in sneakers?
A: Unfortunately, no one is permitted on the ice without skates, unless it’s our staff (EMT or Management).

 

Q: What is the youngest age to skate?
A: We recommend that skaters be at least 3 years of age or older to skate. Our ice and roller skates begin with a size 7 (toddler).

 

Q: Will someone be on the ice/roller rink to help the kids?
A: We have skate guards on the ice/roller rink at all times. If you wish to have additional assistance, we can add on a lesson to the birthday party package. Please inform your event coordinator at least 1 week in advance for more details.

 

Q: Can we skate longer than an hour?
A: The party package covers skating for one 90-minute session. If you would like to skate after your session you are able to purchase tickets for the next session in advance or on-site. Due to the limited time in the room, we must keep to the party room schedule. We just ask when your 90-minutes in the party room are over, that you remove your personal belongings.
 

Q: Should I get the kids skate sizes before the party?
A: While it is not necessary, it does move along the process a bit quicker.

 

Q: What is the difference between skate admission and skate rental?
A: Skate admission is the cost to enter the skating rinks, in which you can bring your own skates. Skate rental is the cost to rent skate.

Food and Beverage

Q: Do i choose one food option for all of the kids, or do they each get to choose their own?
A: You will choose ONE food option for all kids attending the party. For example, all kids will get chicken fingers with French fries.

 

Q: Can we bring in our own cake?
A: Yes, you are more than welcome to bring your own birthday cake. Depending on the size, there may be an additional cake cutting fee.

 

Q: Can I bring my own food?
A: 
No, we have an in-house restaurant with an executive chef on site providing all food and beverage for our events. You can certainly bring your own birthday cake
for the event.

 

Q: Can I bring my own food due to allergies?
A: We do not permit any outside food or beverage due to liability. Lakeside will do our best to accommodate any guests with food allergies or special dietary needs. Please inform your event coordinator and they will provide the best options for your guests.

 

Q: Is the venue nut free?
A: No, the venue is not nut free.
